Why do the best ideas arrive in the shower?
In ancient Greece, the great mathematician Archimedes was enjoying a soak in the tub when he figured out a method for determining whether a crown was made of pure gold. He was so excited, legend has it that he ran through the streets of Athens naked, screaming “Eureka, I have found it.”
Anyway why the shower you ask?
It’s a place where we perform a mindless task (a great place to let ideas float in)
Our minds are not on automatic pilot, they tend to drift
We have been working on the problem subconsciously when we sleep and it comes to light often in the morning when we shower
When we don’t try and solve the problem it often solves itself
